Ever have odds and ends laying around or get some flowers but don't want to put them in a boring, old vase?
Well, that's why I decided to make these fancy mason jars! Mason jars are good for a ton of things! I think they are awesome looking and the glitter makes them even better!
Now- here's how I made mine even though it is some what self explanatory...
Supplies: Mason jar, masking tape, Mod Podge/glue, marbles and GLITTER (ofcourse)!
The first thing I did was tape a line around the jar to give it a little bit of a design. Anywhere on the jar that you don't want glitter, you can just use masking tape. Be creative!
I used a large paint brush with some Mod Podge and painted below the tape line all the way around. I did two coats before dipping into the glitter.
I put the jar in a low box to catch the excess glitter. Pour the glitter over the glued areas and press and spin until the entire jar is covered.
Pull the masking tape off and you have a nice sharp line to give the jar a crisp design.
I proceeded to put some marbles into the bottoms of the jars. This will be nicer for when you want to put things in the jars. I found these around the house, leftover from ones we bought to put in the bottom of a fish bowl.
And now you are ready to put your jars to use!
I decluttered my make-up bag and decided to make one of my jars a makeup brush holder.
I wanted the other jar to hold some flowers! I went to Michael's and bought some artificial flowers for just $6 and arranged and taped them myself and they turned out beautiful!
Here are my finished products when put to use!
